The Religious exercises for the National Fast day.

--The New York correspondent of the Philadelphia Ledger says:

‘ Some of the most eminent of our city clergy. It is understood, have agreed to preach no sermons on the approaching National Fast Day. They say that last day sermons hither to have usually been devoted to politics and other secular topics, which are now wholly out of place. They propose to confine the exercises of the day exclusively to prayer and supplication, under the solemn conviction that God alone can save our country.
