From Gen. Lee's command.

We have late intelligence from the West by passengers arrived last evening. Affairs at Big Sewell Mountain presented no material change, and no battle had taken place between the opposing forces. Gen. Lee has now under his command a sufficient number of troops to hold his position, should the enemy make an attack though it is the opinion of some that he will await further reinforcements before undertaking an advance movement.
