Heavy Robbery

--Five Thousand Dollars in Gold Stolen.--The Memphis Avalanche of the 12th inst., says:

‘ On Tuesday night between the hours of 7 and 9 o'clock, the room of Puss Pettus, the keeper of a noted bagnio on Main street, was entered by some one well acquainted with the premises, and five thousand two hundred and seventy dollars, mostly in gold, stolen there from. Four thousand dollars of it was in twenty dollar gold pieces, eight hundred in gold of smaller denomination, and four hundred and seventy in paper money! Thus far no clue has been obtained to the perpetrators.
