Centerville, Va. Dec. 29th, 1861
Mrs. S. H. Burton
--Dear Madam; Permit me to thank you for the two bottles of home made wine you had the kindness to send me and which I have found to be most excellent. We shall have the pleasure of drinking it on New Year's day to your very good health and prosperity, and to the success of our sacred cause.

With much respect, I remain dear madam, Your most obd't serv't,
G. T. Beauregard,
