Swearing in the public streets.

--The unseemly practice of indulging in profanity cannot be pursued with impunity any more. Like the sporting fraternity, the Mayor has set his face against the practice. Yesterday, William H. Levy was carried before his Honor, charged with using threatening and abusive language to Roxey Ann Moore. It appearing that part of the abusive language consisted of three oaths, which being proved to the satisfaction of the Court the utterer thereof was required to pay one dollar each for them. In addition to this he was required to find security to be of good behavior.
