Amusements.

--The apprehensions of many people that the shutting up of the avenues of communication between this country and the North would cause a dearth of amusements, do not seem to have been realized. We have at this time a greater variety than was usual during the gay season in former days, and the quality, we are pleased to say, is good enough to satisfy the public desire. Blind Tom, the wonderful planist of genuine Southern production, is giving a series of his delightful entertainments at the African Church. Tom was always a favorite in Richmond, and is now more than ever worthy of that distinction. At Metropolitan Hall, the Harmoncons have added materially to their attractions, and the patronage this week has been immense. The during and successful ropewalking performance of Miss Wallace is really a novelty in entertainments of this description. The Varieties continus to hold out the most pleasing representations in the dramatic line, to througed endiences. This week the performances have proved especially interesting, and the members of the company have acquitted themselves very creditably. Messrs. Patti and Pickens, as we stated yesterday, are about to give a concert for a patriotic purpose. Thus it will be soon that there is no lack of agresable recreation, and every one can select to suit himself.
