Petty cases.

--Alvin Booker, slave of Mrs. Bootwright, was ordered twenty-five lashes by the Mayor yesterday, for running a Government wagon, driven by him, against a city lamp-post, located corner of 18th and Main streets, and breaking the lamp. Thos. Lotsy, a lad, was afterwards arrested for putting the iron rim of the lamp to a new use, viz: manipulating Benjamin Jacobs's head with it. When the case was called yesterday, Jacobs did not respond. The examination was continued.
