We have heard, from various sources, that great injustice has been done Mr. Thomas, of Fairfax, by holding him responsible for the bill proposing to draft the volunteers.

Mr. Thomas, we are assured, was not the author of the bill, and not responsible, in any sense therefore.

He proposed it to the Senate as the emanation of a distinguished officer, as containing suggestions which might be of service to the committee, but expressly said he was not the author of it, and not responsible therefore.
