A foul Died.

--For several days past a box had been floating in the bay, somewhere between Catfish and Dog river. The nearest who first observed it supposed it to be a goods box that had gone adrift, until happening to overhaul it, and finding it heavy, they believed they had picked up something valuable. Some of the citizens, to whom the circumstances was mentioned, proceeded to open the box, which was very strongly nailed, and on prizing open the lid the remains of a human foot were seen. There upon Coroner Rouiste was sent for who yesterday morning opened the box and found it to contain a human body packed in lime.-- The flesh had nearly all disappeared, but the hair which remained showed the body to be that of a woman. Enough remained of the head and feet to show that they were of delicate proportions. The body was partly dressed in pantaloons, but the box also contained remains of feminine clothing. It was the Coroner's opinion that the body must have been packed away a full month. The action of the lime had effectively destroyed. All signs of violence if any such had existed.--Mobile Register.
