Clerk appointed.

--Mr. Marcellus T. Starke, who, for the past twenty years, has been Deputy Clerk of the Supreme Court of Appeals, was yesterday chosen to that position by the Judges to succeed the late Jos. Allen. A courteous and obliging disposition, combined with intelligence of no inferior order, and a thorough acquaintance with the duties of the position, admirably quality the new appointee to give satisfaction to Court, bar, and suitor, in this, the highest Court known to the law of Virginia.
