Mexico and the United States

--The New Orleans Picayune, in an article on the relations of Mexico, the Allies, and the United States, does not regret the unfriendly termination of the armistice, and the resumption of hostilities in Mexico since the Government of that country was under the thumb of Corwin, and as a consequence hostile to the South. ‘"So much the better,"’ says the Picayune, ‘"if this condition of things brings the United States into conflict with the Allies, and multiplies the enemies of our enemies."’
