The First Maryland regiment.

The following is pretty nearly a correct list of the casualties in the First Maryland regiment, during the late operations of Jackson in the Valley:

In this connection we might add that the Maryland Line including the First Maryland Regiment the Baltimore Light Artillery, and First Maryland Cavalry, by order of General Jackson, has been sent to Staunton for the purpose of re-organization, where it will continue for ten days longer, when it will rejoin the gallant Jackson. As many Marylanders who propose joining have in vain inquired for the whereabouts of this regiment, we mention this fact.

In a general order issued by General Ewell, a few days since, he highly complimented the First Maryland, and directed that a ‘"Buck's tail"’ should be fastened to their colors, in honor of the gallantry displayed by them in their engagement with the celebrated ‘"Buck tail"’ regiment, of Pennsylvania, on the evening of the 6th.
