The recent skirmishing in Hardy county--Yankee Lies.
In our Northern news published this morning there is an ‘"official"’ dispatch announcing the capture of a part of
Imboden's force, which is, perhaps on a par with the greater part of their official dispatches.
It appears from the accounts of the
Confederates engaged in the fight, on the 9th inst., that
Lieut.-Col. Doyle, of
Imboden's command with 300 infantry, fought the
Yankee force comprised of 400 cavalry, an infantry regiment, and three pieces of artillery, for three days, skirmishing at different points, until he got off safely with his entire wagon train, and only having one man wounded.
In
Tucker county, a few days before this affair,
Col. imboden captured 47 Yankees.
