Specie and Bank Notes.--We continue to quote gold at $4 premium, telling rate, with more firmness in the market reported.
Silver may be quoted at $3.75 premium.
Bank notes have advanced.
The brokers to-day were asking 75 per cent.
Bonds and Stocks.--At Messrs. Davenport & Co's auction sale to-day, which was largely attended, Confederate bonds, (15 M. loan,) coupons, brought 137; do. registered, 110@118; do. do, (100 M loan,) registered, 1872, 106; do. do, 8 per cent convertibles, 106½@107; Confederate Treasury notes, intereast bearing, par and interest; Virginia sixes, registered, 112@114; Georgia sevens, 49@150; Manassas Gap R. R.
bonds, sixes, 58; Orange and Alexandria R. R.
bonds, 2d mortgages sixes, 102: Traders' Bank stock, 124; Bank of Commonwealth, 121; Farmers' Bank, 121, (a large advance;) Bank of Richmond, 100@101; Bank of Monticello, 100, James River & Kanawha Co, 19; Richmond and Liverpool Packet Co. 620; Old Dominion Ins. Co., 31½; Va. Fire and Marine Ins. Co., 47.
All the bonds were sold with interest added to the day of sale.
Produce, Groceries, &c.--Apples, $31@50 per barrel; very few in market.
Butter in demand at $3@3.25 per lb Bacon — hoground, $125@140.--Beeswax, $1.50 per lb. Beans, $15@18 per bushel.
Corn, $10 per bushel; very scarce, and in demand Corn Meal, $10@12 per bushel.
Candles, $3@3.25 per lb. Dried Apples, $13@14 per bushel.
Dried Peaches, $15 @18 per bushel.
Flour — Superfine, $31@32; Extra, $24; Family, $26 per bbl. Hay, $8@8.50 per cwt. Lard, $1.50@1.60 per lb. Potatoes.--Irish, $8 @10, Sweet, $10@11 per bushel.--Peas, $15@18 per bushel.
Cate, $6.59 per bushel.--Seeds — Timothy, $7--season over; Clover, $24@25.
Tobacco-- no sales of leaf for two days past, and we make no change in quotations; the breaks are somewhat larger.
The market for manufactured is less animated.
Wheat — nothing doing, and we repeat the comical quotations of $1@1.50 per bushel.
Sales have been made for horse-feed at $6@6.59.
Dressed Fowls are very high, hucksters in the market demanding $8@12 per pair for indifferent chickens; Turkeys are held by commission merchants at $1.25 per lb. Eggs $1.50 per dozen.--Sugar, Brown $1.20@1.30 per lb as to quality.--Molasses, $10@12 per gallon.
