The Scare at Washington.

A gentleman who came through the lines since the capture of Winchester by our forces says that the newspapers convey a very inadequate idea of the extent of the alarm at Washington, produced by the news of the advance of Gen. Lee's army. Every available man was being hurried to the capital for its defence, and the whole city was in a perfect furore of alarm and excitement.

Official information, received here, state that under the influence of this excitement Burnside's corps has been ordered from Kentucky to constitute a portion of the army designed for the defence of the Yankee Sodom.
