Maj. Edgar Burroughs.

--We regret to find the following in the correspondence of the Philadelphia Inquirer, under date of December 1st:

A detachment of colored troops, now stationed at Norfolk, recently went on an expedition to a point in Princess Anne county, some ten miles from Norfolk. They captured a small party of guerillas, among whom was one Burroughs, a noted guerilla leader, who has a Major's commission in the rebel army.

Recent advices from Norfolk represent that Maj. Burroughs is now being tried in Norfolk upon various charges trumped up by old Butler Among the charges are piracy, in destroying a steamer on the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal; a violation of parole; robbery, etc.
