Robberies.
--On yesterday morning while
Mr. John J. Minter and servant were at market, some one broke in the back window of his kitchen on the corner of Marshall and Adams streets, and stole a considerable quantity of bacon, salt meat, &c., which belonged to the servant woman.
Mrs. M. fortunately had removed on Monday to the house a large lot belonging to herself, which had been placed in the upper part of the kitchen for smoking and salting.
On Tuesday night, the poultry house of
Mr. John Bransford, on Clay street, between 8th and 9th, was broken into, and about a dozen very fine hens were stolen.
Although the henhouse in which the fowls were quartered is situated in close proximity to
Mr. B's kitchen, none of his servants have any recollection of hearing any unusual noise during the night on which the burglars visited his premises.
