The Courts, yesterday.

--Several small cases were disposed of the Mayor yesterday; but, as our columns are crowded with subjects of more importance, no notice can be made of them.

Before Judge Lyons, the habeas corpus case of Ernest P. Bactjer, claiming to be an foreigner, was further argued and than continued till to- day.

Judge Halyburton called his court together at the usual hour; but, for reasons deemed sufficient, did not enter into the trial of any cases. Several habeas corpus petitions were postponed and a writ was awarded James L., Fields, claiming discharge from service as a small contractor.
