“Three days had not separated the child's birth from us”: three days had not passed since its birth. <cit><bibl default="NO">Plut. Tib. Gracch. 18</bibl> <quote lang="greek">κελεύσαντος ἐκείνου διασχεῖν τὸ πλῆθος,</quote></cit> to keep the crowd off.

<p><lemma lang="greek" targOrder="U" from="ROOT" to="DITTO">βλάστας</lemma>
cannot be acc. of respect （“as to the birth”）, because <lemma lang="greek" targOrder="U" from="ROOT" to="DITTO">διέσχον</lemma> could not mean  “had elapsed”: when <foreign lang="greek">διέχειν</foreign> is intrans. it means (a) to be distant, <cit><bibl n="Thuc. 8.79" default="NO" valid="yes">Thuc. 8.79</bibl> <quote lang="greek">διέχει δὲ ὀλίγον ταύτῃ ἡ Σάμος τῆς ἠπείρου</quote></cit>: or (b) to extend, <cit><bibl n="Hdt. 4.42" default="NO" valid="yes">Hdt. 4.42</bibl> <quote lang="greek">διώρυχα<gap />διέχουσαν ἐς τὸν Ἀράβιον κόλπον.</quote></cit>
