<p><lemma lang="la" targOrder="U" from="ROOT" to="DITTO">Petili</lemma>, <lemma lang="la" targOrder="U" from="ROOT" to="DITTO">Cato</lemma>: Petilius and Cato are addressed personally, as prominent men sitting as <foreign lang="la">judices</foreign>.  Such appeals would not now be tolerated, but were consistent with ancient procedure.

<p><lemma lang="la" targOrder="U" from="ROOT" to="DITTO">Favonio</lemma>: Favonius (see sect. <bibl n="Cic. Mil. 26" default="NO" valid="yes">26</bibl>) was a friend and great admirer of Cato, with whom he had previously taken part in some proceedings against Clodius.
