                        Fest. p. 298, Müller) and horses (<bibl n="Dig. 34" default="NO">Dig. 34</bibl>,
                        tit. 2, s. 25.3), sometimes used as a garment (<foreign lang="la">amictus
                            aureo Babylonico,</foreign> Publ. Syr. ap. Petron. 55), though Ulpian
                        (Dig. <hi rend="italics">l.c.</hi>) denies that it should be classed as a
                        dress (<foreign lang="la">non puto vestis esse</foreign>), was much prized
                        by the Romans for its brilliant colour (Lucr. <hi rend="italics">l.c.</hi>）
                        and embroidery (<bibl n="Mart. 8.28" default="NO" valid="yes">Mart. 8.28</bibl>, <bibl n="Mart. 8.17" default="NO" valid="yes">17</bibl>).</p>
