ἐνθένδε , Adv.
A.hence, Il.8.527, Od.11.69, etc.; from this quarter, i. e. from people here, S.OT125; ἐ. τὰ δίκαια ἀρξόμεθα λαμβάνειν, i. e. from you, X.An.7.7.17; καλῶς τά γ᾽ ἐ. all's well on this side, E.Or. 1278; opp. κάτωθεν, Pl.Phdr.229b; “ὡς ἐ. ἰδεῖν” Id.Plt.289d; “ἤρξατο ἐ. ποθέν” Id.Euthd.275d, cf. Smp.178a; ἐνθένδ᾽ αὐτόθεν from this very city, Ar.Ach.116: with Verbs of motion, τοὺς ἐ. ἐκεῖσε πορεῦσαι carry those here, i. e. in this world, thither, Pl.Phd.107e, cf. Ap.40c; ὁ ἐ. στρατός the army from this place, i. e. the Athen. army, E.Supp.695; “οἱ ἐ. ἑταῖροι” X.Cyr.2.4.16.
2. of Time or Consequence, from that time, Th.2.1; τὸ ἐ. or “τοὐνθ.” thereafter, S.Ph.895, E.IT91; τοὐνθ. or τἀνθ. what followed, the event, “τοὐνθ. δεινὸν ἦν θέαμ᾽ ἰδεῖν” Id.Med.1167, cf. S.OT1267, El.1307.
3. “ἐ.” from the following point of view, Pl. Tht.178a; “ἐ. ἂν γίγνοιτο γνώριμον” Jul.Or.4.136c.
