The inscribed has been transcribed as follows: *A*R*X*E*R*M*W *S*O[*F]*I*E*I*S*I*N *H*K*H*B*W[*L*E *D*E*C*S*A*I *A*P*W*L*L*W*N]
Boardman translates this as "Farshooter [Apollo, receive this] fine figure [...worked by] the skills of Archermos, from the Chian Mikkiades, ... the paternal city of Melas."
