The inscribed has been transcribed as follows: *M*I*K*K*I*A[*D*H*I *T*W*D' *A*G*A]*L*M*A *K*A*L*O*N *N[*I*K*H*N *P*T*E*R*W*E*S*S*A*N]*A*R*X*E*R*M*W *S*O[*F]*I*E*I*S*I*N *H*K*H*B*W[*L*E *D*E*C*S*A*I *A*P*W*L*L*W*N][*T]*O*I *X*I*O*I *M*E*L*A*N*O*S *P*A*T*R*O*I*W*N *A*S[*T*U *N*E*M*W*N*T*I].

Boardman translates this as "Farshooter [Apollo, receive this] fine figure [...worked by] the skills of Archermos, from the Chian Mikkiades, ... the paternal city of Melas."
