Plan:

Rectangular building, for displaying statues, probably roofed and opening onto a Doric colonnade on the southern side.

History:

Dedicated by Lysander, a Spartan, in commemoration of the Spartan victory over the Athenians at Aegospotami. It held 37 bronze statues, of gods and admirals, by famous Peloponnesian sculptors. The location of this monument has been debated, and some scholars place it on the opposite side of the Sacred Way.
