The enemy refused to come to time, and the day sent a flag of truce, which was met by Col. Davis, their object being to inform us that Jacksonville and Fernandina would be evacuated at 10 o'clock that night.
About 6 o'clock that evening the enemy were to rush pell-mell aboard of their boats and hastily steamed off. Our forces soon after entered the city.
