From facts since placed in our possession it appears that at the time referred to Col. Martin was in command of the 4th Virginia Cavalry ( Capt. Chamberlayne ) and the Jeff Davis Legion; and that the prisoners captured numbered 200, besides 30 mules and horses, 150 rifles and muskets.
Assisted by one piece of cannon of Stuart's Horse Artillery, commanded...
