Yorktown
Seven Pines
the valley campaign-seven Days battles.
During the campaign upon the Virginia peninsula ending with the battle of Seven Pines, on the last day of May and first of June, the Georgia commands had a part in all the frequent engagements except the battle of Williamsburg.
When Mc-Clellan's army invested Yorktown, the Sixth, Sixteenth, Seventh, Eighth and Tenth regiments were on duty in the trenches and on the general Confederate line.
On April 16th the Federal attack was opened at Dam No. 1, the center of Magruder's line, by a storm of shot and shell, when it was a Georgian who made the first reply with the one available cannon which could be used with effect.
