Latest from the North. Petersburg. Nov. 9. --The New York Times, of the 6th, has been received. The news is unimportant. Gen. Thomas officially announces the capture of Bragg's forage train, with its escort, and the arrival of the captures at Chattanooga. The train was seized in Lookout Valley, in front of Bragg's position, on the 4th inst. He writes from headquarters at Chattanooga that Major Fitzgibbon had overtaken the combined Confederate forces of Cooper, Kirk, Williams, and Scott, numbering 400 men, at Lawrenceburg, on the 3d, and engaged them in a hand to hand fight. The rebels lost eight killed and seven wounded and twenty-four prisoners. The Yankees lost three wounded. The rebels renewed the fight on the 3d at Colliersville, on the Memphis and Charleston Railroad, and after a brief engagement were repulsed. Among the rebel prisoners taken were Gen. Geary and staff.(?) The Memphis papers contain information of another fight at Pine Bluff, Ark,
Prisoners captured in Tennessee. Abingdon. Va., Nov. 9. --Eight hundred and fifty Yankees, captured near Morristown, Tenn, on Saturday, by Jones's and Gilmer's brigades, passed here this morning en route for Richmond. They belong to the 2d Tennessee and 7th Ohio, of Carier's brigade. Four pieces of artillery, 1,000 horses, and 60 wagons are also reported captured. [These are the prisoners reported yesterday as captured near Rogersville, Tenn.]
Capture of the Cornubia. Wilmington, N. C., Nov. 9. --The Journal, of this morning, says the C. S. steamer Cornubia was captured yesterday morning by the blockaders coming in. The Banshee made a narrow escape coming in this morning, but got through safe.

From Charleston. Charleston, Nov. 9. --Nothing new to report to-day. Enemy's fire on Sumter has fallen off to an occasional gun. The monitors were not in action last night or this morning. No casualties. A very heavy blow prevails at see.
North Carolina election. Raleigh, Nov. 9. --Catawba county has gone for Ramsay by 60 majority. Ramsay is thought to be elected over Lander. Partial return from the 9th and 10th districts indicate the election of Gaither over Lander.
Fatal Affray at Abingdon. Abingdon, Va. Nov. 9. --Thos. White, proprietor of the Abingdon Hotel, was shot and mortally wounded in a difficulty with Col. Clarence Prentice last night.
