Virginia Legislature. [extra session.] Senate. Saturday, January 28, 1865. Lieutenant-Governor Price called the Senate to order at 12 o'clock. Prayer by Rev. Dr. Burrows. A communication was read from the House of Delegates, announcing that they had agreed to the joint resolution relating to an additional track on the Piedmont railroad. Mr. Collier's resolution, providing for the adjournment of the Legislature on the 20th of February to the first Monday in December, was taken up and advocated by its patron. Mr. Keen regarded the resolution as premature, and moved that it be indefinitely postponed. Agreed to. Mr. Newlon, from the Committee on Privileges and Elections, reported a bill to amend and re- enact an act entitled "an act to prescribe the mode of ascertaining and certifiying elections of Delegates and Senators during the existing war," passed March 24, 1863.
