Livermore was the grand nephew of Nathaniel Livermore, who willed to him the farm since become famous as the Lyman Place. He was a prominent citizen and held the offices of town-clerk, treasurer, assessor, sexton, and keeper of the pound. He was also Captain of a company. Zzz. and his heirs a pew on the east side of the pulpit, for so long a time as the meetinghouse should stand upon his land, in full satisfaction. He was also voted 35s. for care of the meeting-house as sexton, and September 4, 1739, 30s. for keeping the town records for 1738. September 25, 1738, Mr. Williams was voted a salary of £ 170 with £ 20 for firewood, and the next two years the same, with the addition September 8, 1740, of £ 10, In Consideration of the great Expense of his present jorney to Albany to visit his Sister.
