Zollicoffer in Kentucky--sick in Hospital — Ruse played at Barboarsville--Tennessee B Society — day of Thanksgiving. Knoxville, Tenn., Oct. 15, 1861.
Gen. Zolilconer, after having, by a union of firmness and mildness, repressed rebellion and disorder in East Tennessee, has advanced into Kentucky, where, it is to be hoped, his influence will be extensive in behalf of the Southern cause.
Persons direct from Cumberland Ford affirm that Kentuckians are constantly coming to his camp, and entering the Confederate service.
One man says that on Thursday, 10th instant, he saw thirty-three in a body, splendidly mounted an equipped, come and join his ranks, and on the next day, he was informed, thirteen others, equally well mounted and armed, did the same thing.
They were received with drumbeating, loud shouts, and enthusiastic demonstrations of welcome.
