Virginia Legislature. [Extra Session.] Senate. Friday, January 27, 1865. The Senate was called to order at 12 o'clock M. Prayer by Rev. Dr. Burrows. Mr. Newton, from the Committee on Elections, to whom had been referred the Senate resolution inquiring into the expediency of changing the day for holding the State election, reported it inexpedient to legislate on the subject. On motion of Mr. Dulaney, the report of the committee was amended so as to read that it is expedient to change the time. The bill to enlarge the bounds of the Nineteenth regiment of the Virginia militia of the line was taken up, the question being upon engrossing the same.
