River Ship Company was formed and made plans for the construction of a vessel for the mahogany trade. . . legislation prevented putting the vessel to the use for which it was intended. An order from the Norwegian government received, work was begun. Its keel was laid on March 12, 1918. Again legislation prevented delivery of ships to the Norwegian government and work stopped.
