Hustings Court. --Judge Lyons resumed his duties yesterday as presiding justice of the Hustings Court, it having been ascertained that the proclamation of martial law was not designed to interfere with the trial of criminal cases now pending before this court. The Grand Jury sworn in this court, having adjourned to meet on the 5th of March, will assemble to-day and transact such business as may be brought before them.
Military Orders. --Captain A. C. Godwin has been appointed Provost Marshal for Richmond and a circuit of ten miles around it.--The Passport Office is placed under his charge, and continued at its present location, on Ninth street. Distilling, selling, or giving away liquor, is absolutely prohibited. Arms, such as swords, bayonets, rifles, double-barreled shot guns, and pistols of such size as may be used in the field, must be delivered to Colonel Dimmock, at the State Arsenal in this city, to-day, (March 5,) or they will be seized. Payment will be made for private arms delivered up or taken for the public use.
