Verina Troop. --A meeting of the members of this flourishing cavalry company was held yesterday, when Captain Ronald Mills tendered his resignation, which being accepted, Albert Aiken, Esq., was unanimously chosen his successor. Under the leadership of Capt. Aiken we have no doubt but that the Troop will attain an enviable degree of prosperity. It has a large membership, and several of the men have "seen service" and are fully conversant with military ropes. Ranaway --From the subscriber, on Sunday night last, a Negro Boy, named James Barrour, but generally called Link. Said boy is of gingerbread color, full head of hair, about five feet eight or nine inches high, twenty-eight or thirty years of age, and is a good cook and fisherman. Jim has a wife at Henry Cok's, in Henrico county. He may be lurking about that neighborhood; or may, by representing himself to be free, have obtained employment as a soldier's cook. I will give a reward of $25 for his return to me in Henrico, or if confined in the jail of that county. oc 16--ts Albert Aiken.
