Isaac N. Nutter. The town-treasurer in the years 1861, 1862, 1863, and 1864 was Bartlett R. Alden; in 1865, Isaac N. Nutter. 1861. The first legal town-meeting to act upon matters relating to the war was held on the 27th of April, at which on motion of Hon. B. W. Harris it was unanimously— Resolved, That this town will raise what money is necessary to uniform a volunteer company and properly provide for the family of each member. Four thousand dollars were appropriated; and Samuel G. Alden, Charles A. Latham, George Bryant, John Reed, Albert D. Wheeler, Jacob Bates, David Pratt, 2d, Isaac Nutter, Sidney Allen, and Cushing Otis were chosen a town council to carry into effect the desire of the town as expressed in the above resolve. It was also voted to pay each volunteer ten dollars a month while in active service.
