Allen.--Sir: I see in the Democrat your notice to the people of Harrison county, calling on us to be prepared in case of an invasion of our coast. Although I am now over seventy years old, I am and have been urging this course for the last month upon the citizens living in this neighborhood, and I think they are about to be stirred up. As to myself, I am ready at a moment's warning with my musket, ammunition and revolver. I lack a good butcher knife. Although old as I am, I think
