Anderson & Co., was taken up, and Mr. Johnson offered the following substitute: Resolved, That the Attorney General be, and he in hereby instructed to inquire into the authority under which the contract was made with Joseph E. Anderson & Co., for the sale of arms on the 13d day of August, 1860, and the validity thereof, and that he report to the General Assembly at the next session, and to the Governor as soon as practicable, and if such opinion shall be against the autho General Assembly at the next session, and to the Governor as soon as practicable, and if such opinion shall be against the authority to have made such contract, the Governor shall not make any further or other delivery of the arms to said Anderson. The resolution was adopted. A message was received from the House, through Mr. Hayward, that the House had agreed to the report of the joint committee of the tax bill; and then, at 11 o'clock, on motion of Mr. Early the Senate adjourned.
