The battle field extends over a space of eight miles in length. Rosser's cavalry fought the enemy all day, on our extreme right, losing heavily and gaining nothing important. Ewell captured two pieces of artillery in the fight of Thursday and 1,200 prisoners. The wounded are arriving here and receiving every attention. Gen. R. H. Anderson is now commanding in place of Longstreet. Two thousand well and wounded prisoners have been captured thus far.
