r. Lewis T, Cocke, of company D 44th regiment Virginia volunteers, and son of the late Lewis Cooke, of Louisa county, Va., aged 22 years. This young man volunteered in the service of the Confederate States soon after the commencement of hostilities, during which be participated in one battle in westers Virginia, and since which he has been declaiming till the messenger death summoned him from the battle field and friends in this world to try the realities of an unchanging existence beyond the grave.
