Ball and chain.
--The court martial, now in session here, have sentenced Jno. N. Eubank, a member of Capt. J. W. Barlow's artillery company, to wear a ball and chain for six months, and to be deprived of his pay for the same length of time.
Eubank's offence consisted in leaving Marion Hill battery with out license, and repairing to Danville to engage in his ordinary avocation — that of carpenter.
Getting dissatisfied there, he returned to this city where he was seen and apprehended, and the result above detailed ensued.
He rejoined his comrades for the purpose of punishment yesterday evening.
