. The cars were thrown from the track by a cow, and seven persons killed--five soldiers and two colored men. The locomotive became detached, and was uninjured--Five cars and the tender were precipitated down an embankment 19 feet deep. One of the cars was knocked all to places; another was turned bottom upwards. One went partly over, but was not precipitated down the embankment, and one remained uninjured on the track. Geo. Griffith, of the Hampton Legion, from Abbeville, 8. C., Jas., H. Barnes, 18th Georgia, and --Ownes, of the 45th Georgia, were among the killed. John Smith, Company K.
