Col. F. J. Beggs. We have received a letter from this officer, who is now in Texas, engaged in the patriotic duty of raising troops for the war. At the time of writing, he was about to leave Galveston to get a company of Indians. Owing to unforeseen circumstances, he has concluded to associate his command with Col. G. W. Carter's regiment of lancers for the present Col. Boggs has been invited to take the Presidency of the Huntsville Female College, but declined.
