Cabinet changes.
It was currently reported yesterday, and generally believed, that the President of the Confederate States had sent into the Senate for confirmation the following Cabinet appointments:
Secretary of State--J. P. Benjamin, of La.
Secretary of Treasury--C. G. Memminger of South Carolina
Secretary of War--Geo. W. Randolph, of Va.
Secretary of the Navy--S. R. Mallory, of Fla.
Attorney General--T. H. Watts, of Ala.
Postmaster General--J. H. Reagan, of Texas.
It will be remembered by the reader, that Messrs. Reagan, Memminger, and Mallory, are members of the present Cabinet, and retain their places under the new organization.
Mr. Benjamin is transferred to the State Department, where his great mind will soon find ample employment.
The new Secretary of War, Mr. Randolph, is a distinguished son of Virginia, and will bring to the discharge of the important duties of the office high military attainments.
