Arrests. --The following arrests were perpetrated by the police yesterday: James M. Carroll, for stealing $5 from Nicholas H. Dunn; Thos. Lotsy, for striking Benjamin Jacob with a bar of iron; Alvin Booker, slave of Mrs, Bootwright, for running a wagon (while drunk) against one of the city lamps, corner 18th and Main streets, and "shivering" the same. Last night, an unfortunate female, calling herself Amanda Ferguson, was lodged in the cage, having been found lying in a gutter on 17th street. She was of course very wet, also, drunk as a Lord.

Petty cases. --Alvin Booker, slave of Mrs. Bootwright, was ordered twenty-five lashes by the Mayor yesterday, for running a Government wagon, driven by him, against a city lamp-post, located corner of 18th and Main streets, and breaking the lamp. Thos. Lotsy, a lad, was afterwards arrested for putting the iron rim of the lamp to a new use, viz: manipulating Benjamin Jacobs's head with it. When the case was called yesterday, Jacobs did not respond. The examination was continued.
