They declared their purpose to capture any male citizen they could reach. On Thursday night they landed at Boyd's Hole, and about two o'clock were observed by some of Capt. Taylors pickets, reported to camp, and met by a detachment of Capt. Murphy's troop and Capt. Taylors, and after a sharp fire on both sides, repulsed in an obvious attempt to surprise and capture those commands.
