Kidnapping.
--Robert H. Cotton, Wm. K. Ellett, and Lee B. Boynton, charged with kidnapping three James City county free negroes, and bringing them to Richmond as slaves, were examined before the Mayor yesterday.
After hearing the evidence, Dr. Boynton was discharged, but the other two were remanded for a hearing before the Hustings Court.
Cotton was also sent on to answer for kidnapping Wash Simpson, a free negro, in July last, and holding him in jail as a slave.
