before leaving Montgomery for New Orleans, is said to have become fully convinced of the pecuniary and military resources of the Government of the Confederate States. In Clarksville, Tenn., on the 7th inst., Samuel Anderson was killed by Bailey Brown in a fight. They were both volunteers. Brown was arrested.
