Whole families from Buckingham have come to the rescue, and while Buckingham has but 800 militia enrolled, the county will probably furnish 500 volunteers. District. Mr. Forera, of Buckingham, nominated Hon. Thomas S. Bocock. Mr. Slaughter moved that the election be unanimous. Mr. Suthelyn also favored the election of this gentlemen. Sixth District. Represented by Mr. Rives, and no vacancy. Seventh District. Mr. Moffit nominated Ex-Governor Smith, of Fauquier, and urged his claims. Mr. Conrad wished to give the Convention a choice, and nominated. Robert E. Scott, of Fauquier. The roll was called, resulting as follows: Smith, 20 votes; Scott, 62 votes. eight District. Mr. Borst nominated Hon. James M. Mason Mr. A. M. Harbour nominated Hon. A. R. Boteler. Mr. Barbour urged the claims of Mr. Boteler, and was replied to by Mr. Borst, who reprobated any allusion in this Hall to Whigs, Democrats, onto any old party distinctions. The vote being called, Mr. J. M. Mason received 54 votes and Mr. Boteler 45 votes. Ninth District. Already represented by Judge Brockenbrough--no vacancy.

Editors: --Having seen an advertisement, through your columns, Friday, soliciting 50 young ladies to volunteer for the defence of those in the State of Middlesex, who, from timidity, will not volunteer for the war, I take occassion to say to Miss Moille Pluck, that one young lady from the State of Buckingham, and three from the metropolis, Richmond are willing to tender their services immediately for their protection, as there seems to be some fearful apprehensions of an attack in that quarter. * daughter of the Confederacy.

The majority in this county for Bell is estimated at 400. Shenandoah. Eight precincts give 832 majority for Breckinridge. King and Queen. This county gives a large majority for Breckinridge. Gloucester. The majority for Breckinridge in this county is 166. Goggin carried this county by 12 majority. New Kent. Bell has 25 majority. Goggin's majority was 107. Prince Edward--(official.) Breckinridge's majority is 50--a Democratic gain of 5. Buckingham--(official.) Bell's majority is 24--an Opposition loss of 44. Tazewell and Carroll. The Democratic gain in these two counties is 617.
